NC State ACC Teleconference Quotes
Associate Head Coach Stephanie Glance (Interim Head Coach)
About Attitude Going into two Games as interim head coach
There are two former players on staff as assistant coaches. The team and coaches have pulled together. We are all going onto the floor together, that's the way Coach Yow would want it. We feel like we are very united. We all understand the task at hand and we understand that we've got to go out and be at our best.
Team's Reaction to Coach Yow's Departure
Coach Yow has kept the team informed all the way through this. She got with them for the first time back in December and let then know about her recurrence of breast cancer. That was the first phase and then during the course of our road trip to Vanderbilt and to Clemson she let them know that she would be leaving after the Clemson game. So they knew what the process and steps were.
Play of Khadijah Whittington
She is having a great impact on our program. As a freshman goes she has some inconsistencies, but that's to be expected. She just has to play through them and get experience in this league. She is really doing a great job. She is just a really great person to work with. She has a great work ethic and very eager to learn and to help the team. She is very much a team player and a great asset to our program.
Transition to College Basketball for Whittington
She's a great rebounder. At 6-feet she plays much bigger than she is. She is a leaper and has the ability to score over bigger people. She is learning about position defense and the timing and can be a good defender. At times she has been very good as a post defender. She is going to be an all-around player. She can put points on the board, she can rebound, make assists and play defense. As she continues to develop she is going to be a great player in the ACC.
Upcoming Games Against New ACC Teams-Scouting
We are scouting the way we usually do. We divided the scouts at the beginning of the season, so we've known who is going to scout each game. And we have stuck to that plan. It's a quick turnaround from the North Carolina game to the Virginia Tech game, but it's no different than for it is for lots of other games. It's almost like preparing for a non-conference game because we haven't played Virginia Tech or Miami as part of our conference schedule. We will prepare just like we normally would.
