Q & A with Ashleigh Davis

RALEIGH, N.C. - Leaving Cape Fear High School with five school records, and with a third place listing in the NCHSAA record book for career batting average, freshman Ashleigh Davis arrives in Raleigh determined to make an impact with the Wolfpack softball team. A two-time all region selection, Davis helped to lead her high school to a 2nd place finish at the 2004 state championships. A native of Stedman, N.C., Davis recently sat down with GoPack.com and offered Pack softball fans a first opportunity to get to know her.
Q: What is your full name?
A: "Ashleigh Brooke Davis."
Q: Do you have any nicknames?
A: "Yes. I also go by Ash, Ashlay or Bangs."
Q: Where are you from originally?
A: "Stedman, N.C."
Q: What position do you play?
A: "Outfield."
Q: What are you studying at State?
A: "Psychology."
Q: Why did you chose to come to NC State?
A: "I knew the atmosphere on campus and on the team was right for me."
Q: Let's go over some of your favorites. Let's start with your favorite musician.
A: "Brandon Boyd."
Q: How about movie?
A: "Man! That is too tough!"
Q: How about the last movie you watched?
A: "That would be Eurotrip."
Q: What about the last book you read?
A: "The Present."
Q: Favorite television show?
A: "Family Guy."
Q: Are there any TV shows that you wouldn't admit to watching?
A: "Hmmm. Probably The Batchelor, but don't tell!"
Q: Tell me your favorite vacation spot and why.
A: "The beach! You can be as lazy as you want and not feel guilty."
Q: Where is your favorite place to hang out on campus?
A: "The Ferry (Avent Ferry), of course."
Q: Let's discuss sports for a minute, since you are a student-athlete. Do you have a favorite pro sports team?
A: "Yes. I'm a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan."
Q: What about a favorite athlete?
A: "Xavier Betia from Florida State."
Q: Why Xavier Betia?
A: "Because he's beautiful."
Q: Who is someone that you admire a lot?
A: "My mother."
Q: What is your biggest fear?
A: "Losing someone I love."
Q: What do you like about NC State?
A: "The people here are really laid back and down to earth."
Q: What do you like about the softball team?
A: "The girls on the team are awesome and everyone gets along really well."
Q: Tell me something that most people don't know about you.
A: "I'm very sarcastic."
Q: Do you have any pre-game superstitions or rituals?
A: "There is a specific burnt CD that I have to listen to before every game."
