
Wolfpack Falls to Tough Old Dominion Team, 5-2

NORFOLK, Va. - NC State women's tennis dropped a tight contest, 5-2, to the Old Dominion Monarchs late Friday, Feb. 27 in Norfolk, Va. With the loss, NC State drops to 4-2 on the season, with a win against No. 67 Virginia Tech in its last match. Nandita Chandrasekar and Jennifer Jassawalla picked up the two points for the Wolfpack at No. 3 and No. 5 singles, respectively.
Chandrasekar won in three sets over Fernando Luiz at No. 3 singles, taking the first set in a marathon 7-5. After dropping the second set 6-4, Chandrasekar dominated the final set, 6-2, to wrap up the singles win, her fifth win in sixth dual matches.
At No. 5 singles, Jassawalla defeated Maria Martinez in straight sets 6-1, 6-3. Kristin Lam battled at no 2 singles, dropping her match to Kerstin Endlich, 4-6, 7-6, 6-4.
The Wolfpack will next host Campbell, on Tuesday, March 2 at 2:30 pm.
