Women's Cross Country Grabs 12th Place at NCAA Championships

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State women's cross country team finished 12th overall in the 6,000 meter race at the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Ind., on Monday. Three of the Pack's runners finished in the top 100, with junior Julia Lucas leading the way with a 55th-place overall finish.
Following Lucas, fellow junior Kristina Roth finished 76th, while true freshman Amy Kelly placed 95th. Seniors Josianne Lauber and Erin Swain, competing in their final cross country events for NC State, placed 118th and 155th, respectively. Other than Kelly, two other true freshmen also competed for the Pack, with Magin Kebert placing 185th and Angelina Blackmon coming in 208th.
The NCAA Championships brings a close to the season for the women's team, which placed second at the District III Championships on Nov. 13. On Oct. 30, the Pack finished third at the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships, with Lucas and Roth both picking up All-ACC honors.
