No. 69 Orlay Ends Stay at ITA All-American Championships

RALEIGH, N.C. - Junior Barbara Orlay, currently ranked 69th in the nation by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), has completed her stay at the ITA All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif. Orlay, who had qualified for the event before arriving, fell in her first match to Mississippi's Ilona Somers in three hard fought sets, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4. In the west bracket, Orlay fell again in three sets to Lucia Tallo of Fresno State, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.
The Pack will take to New York City to compete in the USTA National Invitational Saturday, Oct. 9 through Monday, Oct. 11. The tournament will be held exactly one month after the U.S. Open and will take place on the same courts as the pro circuit event. Beginning Friday Oct. 15, the Pack will play host to 21 schools as they open up the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center to host the Residence Inn Wolfpack Fall Invitational.
