Men's Tennis Splits Doubles Matches at ITA Regional

The NC State men's tennis team started play at the ITA Regionals with four doubles teams in action. The tandem of Dennis Myers and William Noblitt won for the six time this fall, downing Barenak and Mills of Campbell by a score of 8-3. Will Shaw teamed with Ben Zink to advance as well, while the tandems of Andre Iriarte/Ryan Johnson and Darragh Rowan/David Rozek fell in the first round of qualifying.
Shaw/Zink won over a pair from Virginia, with Downing and Gonyer losing to the Wolfpack, 8-4. Iriarte/Johnson fell to Carlotti/Mandou of Chapel Hill by the score of 9-8, with a 7-4 score in the tiebreaker in a close match. Samuelson/Stone of Duke downed the final Wolfpack team, defeating Rowan and Rozek 8-6.
Beginning at 8:30 am on Thursday, Oct. 21, Myers, Noblitt amd Mason Schermerhorn will compete in the singles qualifying held at Duke University.
The University of North Carolina will play host to the singles matches as well, with Rozek, Iriarte, Shaw and Zink travelling to Chapel Hill.
