Wolfpack Finishes Day Two At Raleigh Relays

Raleigh, N.C. - The NC State men's and women's track and field squad completed the second day of competition at the 2003 adidas Raleigh Relays Saturday at Derr Track. On of the biggest track meets on the east coast comes to an end after two full days of action.
James Rowell earned a NCAA regional qualifying mark in the hammer, as he finished second with a top mark of 182'00". Also in the hammer, Randy Cass placed sixth (172'11").
In the 200 meters, NC State placed two runners in the top-10. TJ Giwa finished sixth with a time of 21.62, and Derrick High was close behind in eighth with his time of 21.67. John Henderson was 18th in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:38.91. Kurtis Marlow brought home a second place finish in the 1,500 meters with his time of 3:52.31. Also in that race, John Huber was 27th (3:59.87). Jesse Rhodenbaugh was 10th in the 800 meters with a time of 1:53.05.
Lucinda Hall recorded a NCAA regional qualifying time in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. Hull finished third with a time of 10:47.40. Leslie Jimison ran the 3,000 meter steeplechase in 11:25.09. Janelle Vadnais was 21st in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:36.27. The women's 4x100 placed 21st (47.88).
In the pole vault, Carolina Fraisse was 13th (11'06.25") and Allison Weavil was 27th (10'06.25"). Sheena Dawkins was 18th in the triple jump with a best distance of 37'11.50", and Kelly Smoke placed 21st in the hammer with a heave of 150"11".
