Men's Tennis Falls to Texas-Arlington, 5-2

HOUSTON - The NC State men's tennis team headed to Houston, Texas for a two match weekend, the first beginning on Friday, Feb. 21, versus the University of Texas-Arlington. After being forced to relocate its match with UTA due to rain, the Wolfpack's result still saw gloomy ends. In Houston's Metropolitan Raquet Club, NC State fell to UTA, 5-2, which included the doubles loss at 3-0.
No. 1 seeded R.J. Murray collected his 14th singles win with a 7-6, 2-6, 10-5 match over UTA's Nathan McGregor. Murray is now 3-3 as the No. 1 seed. The Pack's Val Banada remains perfect, 4-0, as the third seed after he defeated UTA's Niels Bucksik 3-6, 7-5 and 10-7.
NC State will take on host Rice at 11 a.m. on Sunday. The Owls are currently ranked 36th in the nation and stand with a errorless 5-0 record. The matches are scheduled to be played on the Rice campus, but may be moved to the "Met" as well.
