
Track Sees Action at Virginia Tech

Blacksburg, Va. - After posting two impressive team finishes at last weekend's ACC Indoor Championships, the NC State track went back to action this past weekend competing at Virginia Tech's Last Chance meet.
In the throws, James Rowell took third in the weight throw with a NCAA Provisional mark of 19.14 meters, the first provisional mark for Rowell this season. In the pole vault it was David Kessler in sixth (4.65m) and Eric Hoverstad was 12th (4.50m).
Babatunji Giwa was busy for the men's team, placing 14th in the 60 meters with a time of 6.92, and he was eighth in the 200 meters (21.83). Joseph Brent took 23rd in the 60 meters (7.07). In the 400 meters, Tyrone Dozier was eighth with a time of 48.15.
In the women's pole vault, Katie Bolac earned a NCAA provisional mark with a height of 12'05.50". Bolac ties her own school record, and is the second time this season she notched a NCAA Provisional mark. Also in the pole vault, freshman Teresa Reed was eighth vaulting 3.40 meters.
Sophomore Felicia Fant placed ninth in the 60 meters with a time of 7.74, after running the prelims in 7.63. Ebony Foster was 14th in the 200 meters with a time of 24.89.
NC State will compete next weekend at North Carolina.
