NCSU Cross Country Moves Up In Polls

Raleigh, N.C.--The NC State men's and women's cross country squads moved up in the NCAA Division I cross country polls this week following their performances at the Great American Cross Country Invitational in Charlotte, N.C.
The women, now ranked #3 nationally, defeated five ranked squads and tallied 41 points to take the victory. The women were led by Kristin Price, who took third overall in the meet at 17:14.6. All-Americans Katie Sabino and Christy Nichols took 12th and 15th, respectively.
The Wolfpack men moved up to #8 in the nation after taking first overall in the men's competition in Charlotte. Chad Pearson was the top NC State finisher, taking third in 24:08.3. Pearson was the highest ACC finisher in the competition. NC State posted a score of 34 in the meet, ahead of 19th-ranked Michigan, who tallied 67.
The Wolfpack's next meet will be this Saturday at the Greensboro Invitational in Greensboro, N.C.
