Tallahassee, FL- Jez Ratliff scored both of the goals for the 17th-ranked Florida State women's soccer team in a 2-1 overtime victory over the NC State women at Seminole Soccer Stadium Saturday evening. The game, scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. EST start, was delayed two hours due to lightning in the Tallahassee area. Florida State moved to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in the ACC, while the Wolfpack dropped to 2-4 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
Junior Jordan Allison (Greensboro, North Carolina) tallied her first goal of 2001 for NC State at the 37:10 mark of the first half on assists from junior Lauren Bendahan (Springfield, Virginia) and senior Kelly Blaggie (Clearwater, Florida). That goal followed Ratliff's first goal just 2:02 in the match on a feed from Camie Bybee and Maren Vik Edvardsen.
Ratliff netted the "Golden Goal" in the 96th minute of action on a pass from Cindy Schofield just inside the Wolfpack box for her third goal of the season.
After getting outshot 8-6 in the first 45 minutes of action, the Wolfpack dictated most of the action in the second half, launching 13 second half shots to just 2 for the Seminoles. For the game, NC State won the shooting battle 20-11.
