Mississippi State Upends NC State, 71-58

CANCUN, Mexico (AP) - LaToya Thomas had 26 points and eight rebounds as Mississippi State upset 18th-ranked North Carolina State 71-58 Friday at the Sports Tour International tournament.
It's the first time N.C. State (6-4) has lost four straight non-conference games. Carisse Moody and Kaayla Chones each scored 13 points for the Wolfpack and they combined for 13 rebounds.
Freshman Tan White added 22 points, seven rebounds and five steals for the Lady Bulldogs (8-2), who ran out to a 19-6 lead.
Mississippi State's lead was down to 37-34 at halftime, but it opened the second half with an 11-4 run to open a 10-point edge with under 14 minutes left.
The Lady Bulldogs' largest lead was 15 points - 67-52 with about 1{ minutes remaining.
MSU made 50.9 percent of its field-goal attempts, a season-high for a Wolfpack opponent, while N.C. State made only 40.8 percent.
