Track & Field Wraps Up Action at Kroger Invite

Blacksburg, Va. -- For the second straight weekend, the NC State track & field team competed at Virginia Tech. This weekend the Pack took part in the Kroger Invite.
In running his first race of the indoor season, Chris Dugan captured first place in the mile with a time of 4:08.98, just two seconds off a NCAA provisional time. Freshman Ricky Brookshire took fourth in the mile with a time of 4:13.96, while Abdul Alzindani was ninth (4:20.13). The success in the distance events continued, as the Pack notched two top-10 finishes in the 3,000 meters. David Patterson ran the 3,000 meters in 8:41.82 to finish seventh, and freshman John Huber placed 10th with a time of 8:47.75. Isaiah Oglesby brought home his third first place finish of the indoor season, this one in the weight throw with a toss of 61'03.50". Freshman James Rowell was close behind, as he finished fifth with a mark of 57'03.50".
Leading the charge for the women's squad was Annemarie Clark who participate in three separate events. Clark Took 10th in the pole vault (10'6"), 12th in the 200 meters (25.27), and also 15th in the 400 meters (57.51). Also in the pole vault, Katie Bolac was NC State's top finisher as she brought home a fifth place finish with a mark of 10'11.75". Freshman Felicia Fant put in a strong performance as well, as she ran a 7.64 in the finals of the 60 meters.
NC State will next be in action the weekend of February 3, when the Pack travels to Gainsville, Fla., to compete in the University of Florida Invite.
