Wolfpack Cross Country Squads Lauch Season At Wolfpack Invitational

Raleigh, NC (Sept. 12) - Rollie Geigers nationally-ranked NC State cross country squads will begin the season Sept. 16 in the Eighth Annual Wolfpack Invitational at the University Club in Raleigh. In past years, the comptetion has been held at Centennial Campus, where construction is currently underway for a new course on the site.
The festivites are set to kick off at 8:30 with the college mens and womens races. The college races will feature the eighth-ranked Wolfpack men and ninth-ranked NC State women taking on a field of 16 schools, including ACC foes Georgia Tech, Maryland, Virginia and Wake Forest. These races are open to anyone who wishes to compete Saturday morning.
Later, the high school girls and boys races will begin, with the seeded competition scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and the unseeded races at 11:20 a.m. The junior varsity races are set to get underway at 12:40 p.m. followed by the freshman and sophomore races at 2:00 p.m. The high school races feature competitors from 38 high schools from North Carolina.
