Pack's Dugan Competes in Olympic Trials

Sacramento, Calif.(July 21) - Chris Dugan, a member of NC State's track and field team, recently competed in the U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials out in Sacramento, California. Dugan ran in the 3,000 meter steeplechase preliminaries and finished 17th out of 34 runners with a time of 8:37.69. Dugan did not qualify for the finals, which were run last night.
Dugan will be entering his senior year at NC State this fall, where he runs both cross country and track. Dugan is a two-time All-American in cross country, finishing 44th at the 1999 NCAA Championships. During the outdoor track season, Dugan also received All-American status after he placed eighth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the NCAA Championships.
