Track Competes In Carolina Classic

Leading the way for NC State was Annemarie Clark. The senior from Raleigh, N.C., took second in the pole vault with a mark of 11'2". That mark ties the NC State record for the outdoor pole vault, a mark Clark established last season. Freshman Kristin Pace also notched a second place finish, with hers in the high jump (1.74m). Other results saw Brandi Parks take third in the triple jump (11.62m), and Renae Robinson took seventh in the 400 meters (56.81). Yvonne Downing placed seventh in the 800 meters (2:19.52), while teammate Sarah Strickland finished ninth (2:29.02).
On the men's side, Isaiah Oglesby won the hammer throw for the fourth time this season. Also, Ryan Woods placed eighth in the 1,500m, with a season-best 3:52.21, and John Ihnatolya finished 35th in the 800 meters (2:02.08). Eric Fonville finished ninth in the long jump (7.01m), while Cameron Morris took 10th (6.92m).
Three Pack members headed up to James Madison this past weekend, to compete in the James Madison Invitational. Senior Brendan Rodgers posted a NCAA provisional mark in the 1,500 meters, when he placed 7th with a time of 3:44.69. Also at JMU, Katie Sabino took fifth in the 3,000 meters (9:45.80), while teammate Molly Purser finished ninth in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:32.85.
NC State will return to action next weekend, when the Pack heads to Atlanta, Ga., to compete in the Reebok Invitational.
