NC State Women's Cross Country Squad Honored

Raleigh, N.C. (March 22) - The women's cross country squad was honored recently by the Women's Intercollegiate Cross Country Coaches Association for outstanding academic achievement.
Junior Christy Nichols was named Acadmeic All-American, along with sophomores Katie Sabino and Amy Beykirch. To receive this honor, athletes must be a sophomore, junior, or senior and carry a cumulative GPA of 3.25. They also must have finished in the top 10% of their NCAA Regional Championship or earn All-American.
As a team, NC State's women were named Academic All-America "With Distinction". NC State finished 17th among all Division I schools with a 3.45 team GPA. To receive this award, each squad must have a team GPA of 3.25 or better.
