Track & Field Begins Indoor Season

The NC State track & Field squads kicked off their indoor seasons by traveling to Clemson University this past weekend and competing in the Clemson Opener.
Sophomore Kristin Pace notched a first place finish in the high jump with a leap of 5'05.75". Patricia Watson also picked up a first place finish by winning the 20lb. weight throw with a toss of 50'02.50", falling short of the school record by less than inch. Annemarie Clark had an impressive day, as she brought home a fourth place finish in the pole vault with a mark of 10'4", and also placed sixth in the 200 meters with a time of 59.36. In the 60 meters, freshman Felicia Fant finished fourth with a time of 7.63. Renae Robinson also finished fourth, with hers coming in the 800 meters (2:17.71).
The men's team was lead by the performance of its throwers. Isaiah Oglesby placed first in the 35lb. weight throw with a mark of 62'10". James Rowell took second (59'02.75), Ryan Furlough was fourth (56'01.25"), and Randy Cass sixth (53'11"), all in the weight throw. Cass also placed third in the shot put with a toss of 48'06.25".
NC State will next compete at Virginia Tech January 13.
