NC State Track Kicks Off Indoor Season

BLACKSBURG, VA. -- The NC State track & field team came away with many ECAC and IC4A qualifying marks in its first indoor meet of the season at Virginia Tech this past Saturday.

Leading the way for the Pack was senior Sherlane Armstrong. Armstrong, who redshirted last season, notched two ECAC qualifying marks. She was first in the triple jump (41'00.25") and finished third in the 60 meters (7.71). Sophomore Katie Bolac also earned an ECAC mark, with a pole vault of 11'04.25". NC State also had the three fastest runners in the 800 meters with Yvonne Downing, Molly Purser, and Carrie Messerschmidt. Downing took home first, with a time of 2:16.78.

On the men's side, sophomore Isiah Oglesby and junior Cameron Morris both had IC4A qualifying marks. Oglesby finished second in the weight throw (59'08.50"), and Morris was second in the long jump (23'10.25").

NC State will be back in action this weekend, as the Pack heads back to Virginia Tech to take part in the Kroger Classic.
