Pack Posts Strong Showing at NC Intercollegiate Championships

Rogers, an All-ACC honoree, finished the 5K course in a time of 18:02. Sophomore Beth Kraft also ran well for the Wolfpack, placing fourth in a time of 18:12. Freshman Melinda DuBose (12th, 18:31) and senior Beth Herrman (22nd, 18:50) also ran well for NC State.
Bowker, who redshirted last season for the Wolfpack, led the NC State "B" squad to a third-place finish (95 points) in the men's Division I standings. The men finished behind Wake Forest (40 points) and Dukes "B" team (94 points).
Sophomore Ryan Woods joined Bowker in the top five with a stellar fourth-place showing, completing the 8K course in a time of 25:05. Sophomore Scott Wirgau finished 17th among all Division I finishers in 25:27. Freshmen Pat Helland (29th, 26:01) and Joe Lion (49th, 26:36) rounded out the scoring for the Wolfpack.
Up next for the Wolfpack will be a trip to Chapel Hill, NC for the ACC Championships on November 1. Both squads will try for an unprecedented fifth consecutive ACC crown.
