Bio
As a Sophomore (2019): Made 18 appearances on the season and played a total of 438 minutes…Scored the game-winner at No. 14 Louisville in the regular season finale on Oct. 31…Also scored a goal in the NCAA First Round win vs. Navy on Nov. 15…Assisted Tziarra King on her second goal in the 3-1 win at No. 7 Georgetown on Aug. 25…Had a shot on goal at BYU in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen…All three of her shots on the season were on frame.
As a Freshman (2018): Earned eight starts in the 20 matches she played, playing 1,075 minutes…Played a season-high 94 minutes vs. Duke…Recorded her first career brace in the team’s 2-0 win over George Washington…Also scored in the team’s 6-0 win vs. Pittsburgh…Recorded 13 shots on the season, putting seven on frame.
Prior To NC State: Trained with NC Fusion since 2017 under Chad Heinicke...She has also played for Charlotte Soccer Academy, Tri-Cities Youth and Lake Norman SC...With her various club teams her accomplishments include winning the Disney Showcase, Jefferson Cup, US Club National Championship and being a finalist at the San Diego ECNL National Championship...She played with the NCYSA ODP First Team from 2012-16 and received Region 3 camp invites each year...Her older sister, Mary, plays at Gardner-Webb.
Santoro on Toohey: "Anna has an unorthodox creativity that you don't teach. It's either there or it's not. She loves to dribble and attack, which are qualities we won't take away from her but only adjust for this level. Once she adapts and becomes stronger physically, I think Anna's game will mesh well with our attacking personalities."
