A veteran with eight seasons of experience as an assistant coach, Lindsay Edmonds will enter her third season with the Wolfpack with the start of the 2015-16 season.
During her first season at NC State (2013-14), Edmonds helped lead the Wolfpack to the following accomplishments:
A 25-8 record
A top 25 RPI
A fourth place ACC finish despite preseason prediction of 10th
11 straight weeks in the AP and USA Today polls
A first AP top-10 ranking since 2001
Four wins over AP top-20 teams
Ten wins over top-100 RPI teams
A 13-2 nonconference record
A 14-2 record at home
Her second season (2014-15) on the Wolfpack staff was also impressive, as the team struggled through the significant adversity of having five student-athletes miss a combined 81 games throughout the season as a result of multiple injuries and an NCAA ruling on freshman Bosnian center Sara Boric to still finish with an 18-15 record which ended in the Sweet 16 of the 2015 WNIT.
Lindsay Edmonds was hired in April 2013 as an assistant women's basketball coach at NC State. She spent the last four years (2009-13) as an assistant coach at James Madison University.
"Lindsay is a North Carolina native which I think is very important because we're going to put an emphasis on in-state recruiting," said Moore. "In her time at James Madison she also recruited the East Coast quite a bit - Virginia Beach, Washington D.C., Philadelphia areas. She helps us get a foot in the door immediately in those spots."
Edmonds, who will be tasked with working with the Wolfpack post players, was the recruiting coordinator at both James Madison and Appalachian State.
"I'm excited to be a part of the Wolfpack family and Coach Moore's staff," said Edmonds. "Kay Yow established a tradition of excellence here at NC State and we look forward to carrying that tradition on into the future.
"Having played and coached against Coach Moore, I've seen how well he runs a program and how successful his teams have been. I know that with NC State's tradition, Coach Moore's leadership, and the support from the administration, the future here is very bright. I feel extremely honored and blessed to be a part of it."
In her four seasons at JMU, the Dukes won two Colonial Athletic Association championships, played in two NCAA Tournaments and made two WNIT appearances. The 2011-12 team appeared in the WNIT title game, while the 2012-13 club reached the quarterfinal round of the WNIT.
The Dukes had seven All-CAA selections with Edmonds on staff, while also boasting the conference Player of the Year in 2011, the Defensive Player of the Year in 2012 and the Rookie of the Year in 2013.
James Madison compiled a record of 106-34, a winning percentage of 75.7 percent, and an average of 27 wins per season with Edmonds on the bench.
Her first collegiate coaching stop came at her alma mater, Appalachian State, from 2007-09. Edmonds was the recruiting coordinator and worked with the Mountaineer backcourt.
In 2005-06, Edmonds was an assistant coach at Andrews High School in High Point, N.C., and also coached the under-16 AAU elite Team Phoenix.
A 2005 graduate of ASU, Edmonds, then Lindsay Smith, was a four-year starter and 1,000-point scorer and holds the school record for career three-pointers (177).
She was a team co-captain her final two seasons, and led the Mountaineers in assists both years.
A native of Winston-Salem, N.C., Edmonds holds a bachelor's degree in health promotions, and is a 2011 graduate of the NCAA Women's Coaches Academy.
Edmonds is married to Ulrick Edmonds, an assistant football coach at NC State. The couple recently welcomed a daughter--Nylah--into its family on Sept. 2, 2014.
