2022 SEASON:
• Hard hitting free safety who finished second on the team in tackles with 83 - 310 for his career.
• A second-team All-ACC performer.
• Chose to return for a fifth season in 2022.
• A veteran of 56 games played and 50 games started.
• His 2,960 career snaps ranked second among defensive players.
2021 SEASON:
• A first-team All-ACC performer on the official league squad, as well as the AP team.
• A second-team performer according to Phil Steele.
• Starting free safety who was the team’s second-leading tackler in 2021 with 82 stops.
• In for 776 snaps for the season - the highest total on defense.
• Led the team in tackles with a career-high 13 at Florida State.
• Also the team leader in tackles with what was then a career-high 11 at Mississippi State, also the team leader in stops vs. Wake Forest.
• Pulled down his first career interception in the season opener.
2020 SEASON:
• Hard-hitting safety who battled a hamstring injury for much of 2020
• Went down after just two snaps in the opener, missed the game at Virginia Tech and battled through to play 54 snaps and lead the team in tackles while obviously in pain at Pitt.
• Went out again in the win over Duke and missed the next three games.
• Ejected for targeting three times: in the first half of the Virginia win and vs. Liberty and Georgia Tech. Had to sit out the bowl game as a result.
• Voted a season captain for 2020.
• A fourth-team preseason All-ACC choice according to Phil Steele.
2019 SEASON:
• Team’s second-leading tackler for the season with 68 stops. He was the team leader before missing the season finale with an injury.
• Tallied a career-high 10 tackles at West Virginia and at Boston College.
• Moved from nickel to free safety for 2019.
• Earned the team’s Dewayne Washington Award for Defensive back of the year.
2018 SEASON:
• One of only two true freshmen to start multiple games on defense, he got the nod in the first seven contests of the season at nickel.
• Hard-hitting young player who ranked sixth on the team in tackles even though he came off the bench in the last six games.
• Led the team or tied for the team lead in tackles in the wins over Georgia State, Virginia and Louisville.
HIGH SCHOOL:
• Played defensive back at Dr. Phillips High School for coach Rodney Wells.
• Helped team to the Florida Class 8A state title and a record of 13-2.
• Also competed in track & field, a two-time state placer in the long jump.
• Career Stats: Totaled nine career interceptions and nine career touchdowns during prep career.
• Senior Stats: Finished with 101 tackles and five tackles for loss in 10 games played. Also had nine rushes for 44 yards and one TD and tallied 215 yards in both punt and kickoff returns.
• Junior Stats: Had two INTs, he returned one for a TD. Also had six return TDs, and averaged 35.2 yds per kickoff return and 19.7 yds per punt return.
• Honors: Named first-team all-state. A two-time first-team all-metro and all-district selection. A team captain.
