2022 SEASON:
• True freshman QB who came off the bench to lead the Pack to victory vs. Virginia Tech, he threw for three touchdowns. Also threw for three in the win over Wake Forest.
• First true freshman since Philip Rivers (2000) to start at QB for the Wolfpack when he got the nod vs. Wake Forest.
• Named the ACC Rookie of the Week for his performance against Virginia Tech and again vs. Wake Forest.
• According to ESPN, is one of only six true freshmen ACC QBs in the playoff era with 20 completions, 260 yards 3 TDs and not INTs in a game (Morris, NC State, 2022; Howell, UNC, 2019 (6 times), Trevor Lawrence, Clemson, 2018 (3 times), Lamar Jackson, Louisville 2015, Deshaun Watson, Clemson, 2014, Brad Kaaya, Miami, 2014)
• Suffered an injury vs. BC and missed the remainder of the season.
• Had seen action in two games: 13 snaps vs. Charleston Southern and three vs. Syracuse before coming off the bench to play 58 snaps vs. the Hokies.
• Earned the team’s Philip Rivers Award for Most Valuable Freshman.
• Did not arrive on campus until June - he is 19 years old.
HIGH SCHOOL:
• Enrolled at NC State in May of 2022.
• Played quarterback at Carrollton High School for coach Joey King.
• Career Stats: Played his senior season at Carrollton High School after competing at Pace Academy as a junior. Also played his freshman and sophomore seasons at Carrollton.
• Senior Stats: Completed 186-of-295 passes for 3,089 yards (a 63.1% completion percentage). Threw for 33 touchdowns and had a QB rating of 122.8. Also rushed 109 times for 602 yards and seven scores. Rushed for over 100 yards in a game and pulled down a pair of receiving TDs. Team finished 12-2 and advanced to the Georgia 6A state semifinals. He was a Mr. Georgia Finalist as well as a Touchdown Club of Atlanta Athlete.
• Junior Stats: Team posted a 6-3 record and advanced to the Georgia 2A state playoffs. Won the QB Challenge at the 2021 Rivals Five-Star Challenge.
• Sophomore Stats: Completed 60.6 percent of his passes for 2,186 yards and 20 TDs. Also rushed for 379 yards and eight TDs.
• Rankings: The No. 5 dual-threat quarterback nationally, the No. 36 player in the state of Georgia, and a four-star recruit by Rivals. The No. 25 quarterback nationally and the No. 41 player in the state of Georgia by 247Sports.
