2023 SEASON:
• Dominant defensive end who was a major factor in the Wolfpack’s defensive success.
• Ranked second on the team with six sacks.
• Tallied a career high two sacks vs. No. 10 Notre Dame.
• Recovered a fumble in the win over Miami.
• Had a career-high six stops vs. Marshall.
• Honored with the No. 1 jersey for 2023, Dave Doeren says he ‘plays with one speed.’
2022 SEASON:
• Started every game at defensive end.
• In for a career-high 78 plays at UNC, he tallied five total tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, two quarterback hurries and a PBU that resulted in an interception. The Wolfpack held UNC to a season-low 351 yards of total offense.
• Earned the team’s Alpha Rising Award, given to the player showing exceptional improvement. He also won the Carey Brewbaker Award for most valuable defensive lineman.
2021 SEASON:
• Had five quarterback pressures in the win over La Tech.
• In for a career-high 57 snaps while playing mainly end in the win at FSU then topped that with 67 snaps in his first start at Wake Forest.
• Also notched a career-best five tackles vs. the Deacons.
• Started the last three games of the season at end.
2020 SEASON:
• Talented young d-lineman who saw action in five games as a true freshman.
• In for a season-high nine snaps in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl vs. Kentucky.
HIGH SCHOOL:
• Played on the defensive line at Cary High School for coach Jason Wilkes.
• Career stats: In his four-year varsity career, totaled 235 tackles (124 solo stops), 59 tackles for loss and 31 sacks.
• As a senior: Recorded 100 tackles (42 solo stops) including 25 tackles for loss and 17 sacks. Also had 48 QB hurries, caused seven fumbles and recovered four. Served as a team captain. Invited to play in the 2019 Shrine Bowl.
• As a junior: Notched 79 tackles, 25 tackles for loss and 12 sacks.
• As a sophomore: Limited to just four games. Made 17 tackles, three TFLs and a pair of sacks.
• As a freshman: In nine games, tallied 39 tackles and six TFLs.
• Rankings: The No. 12 recruit in the state of North Carolina and the No. 37 defensive tackle nationally by rivals.com. No. 13 recruit in North Carolina and No. 35 defensive tackle nationally by 247sports.com. No. 43 defensive tackle nationally by ESPN.com.
PERSONAL:
• Won a 4A state title at heavyweight in wrestling and was finished second at the state championships in the shot put (57 feet, 5.75 inches), both as a junior. He recorded the third-longest discus throw in the U.S. as a junior as well.
• Younger brother Rylan is a redshirt freshman offensive lineman for the Pack.
• Major: Sport management.
