• Redshirted the season.

• A three-year starter at Corinth Holders High School in Wendell under Coach Barry Honeycutt, where he helped lead the squad to the state playoffs all three years. After graduation, he attended Jirah Prep in Indian Trail, N.C.
• Senior Stats: Led the team and conference in tackles with 115. Helped lead his squad to a conference title and the second round of the state playoffs.
• Junior Stats: Led the team in tackles.
• Honors: An all-conference performer as a junior and senior. Also won academic all-conference honors both of those seasons. Named his team's most valuable linebacker as a senior.
• At Jirah Prep: A team captain for coach Ryan Williams.
• Personal: Also lettered in wrestling and track. Father, David, Sr., was a Div. I swimmer at Rider University.
