BERKELEY, Calif. – 23rd-ranked NC State men's tennis moved to 16-4 overall with a 4-1 loss to 54th-ranked California in Berkeley on Friday evening.
NC State picked up its fourth loss Friday night with a loss to No. 54 California on the West Coast. The team only has two more regular season matches to go with No. 25 Stanford and No. 3 Wake Forest.
Losses on courts one and two in doubles helped the Golden Bears take the edge moving into singles over the Wolfpack.
Once in singles play, California commanded courts one, two, and four quickly to inch towards their upset over NC State. Although Charlie Chamus on court six was able to swiftly get the red-and-white on the board with a 6-2, 6-1 win, his remaining squad mates were unable to add any other victories.
