RALEIGH – NC State men's soccer wrapped its spring slate in the Carolina Cup league and turns its attention to individual summer action.
The Wolfpack completed its third spring season under head coach Marc Hubbard, securing wins over South Carolina, UNC Greensboro, Wake Forest, and Campbell.
Competing again in the competitive Carolina Cup league, the squad went 4-1 across the spring campaign. The league features teams from around the Carolinas, including Campbell, Duke, High Point, NC State, South Carolina, North Carolina, UNC Greensboro, UNC Wilmington, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest. The Pack had only one home match in the five games played and was able to come away with three road wins.
"This spring has been all about growth for our young, inexperienced group as we adjust after graduating a large class and losing three underclassmen to professional contracts", said head coach Marc Hubbard. "Each match showed progress, with players stepping into new roles and building confidence together. We're excited to see how our returners continue to develop this summer, guided by the strength and direction of our leadership group."
Three members of the Pack earned recognition in the Carolina Cup All-League awards, with Tyler Caton and Riley Moloney being placed on the First Team and Caden Tolentino on the Second Team.
NC State welcomed five new student-athletes at the start of the semester for the spring - Mikell Barnes (freshman), Josh Gordon (Kentucky transfer), Matheus Rhormens (Queens transfer), Jackson Smith (freshman), and Hayato Takayama (Iowa Western transfer).
