STANFORD, Calif. – The NC State softball team dropped a 6–2 decision at No. 20/19 Stanford on Saturday afternoon at Stanford Softball Stadium. The loss allowed the Cardinal to claim the series.

The Pack drops to 25-19 overall and 6-10 in conference action.

How It Happened

Stanford opened the scoring in the first inning with a solo home run and an RBI single to take a 2–0 lead.
The Cardinal added a run in the third on an RBI groundout to extend the advantage to 3–0.
A three-run fourth inning, highlighted by a two-RBI single, pushed Stanford's lead to 6–0.
NC State put a runner on third in the sixth inning but was unable to capitalize.
The Wolfpack got on the board in the seventh as Teagan Thrunk hit a pinch-hit, two-run home run to make it 6–2.
Stanford held NC State scoreless through the first six innings and closed out the game to secure the series win.
