#14 Wolfpack Falls to #8 Virginia to Close Regular Season

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - No. 14 NC State women's tennis fell to No. 8 Virginia, 4-2, Sunday afternoon in Charlottesville to close out the regular season. With the loss, the Wolfpack finishes the regular season at 19-7 overall and 10-2 in ACC play.
Virginia claimed the doubles point with wins on courts one and two, with the second court decided by a tiebreaker. Mia Slama and Lavinia Tanasie picked up a 7-5 win on court three.
In singles play, No. 65 Tanasie evened the match at 1-1 early with a 6-2, 6-3 win against No. 111 Isabelle Lacy on court four. The Cavaliers quickly responded with a win on court six to regain the lead.
Virginia extended its advantage to 3-1 with a victory on court five, but No. 46 Gabriella Broadfoot kept the Pack alive with a three-set win on court three, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4, over No. 82 Katie Rolls. The Cavaliers ultimately clinched the match on court one with a pair of tiebreak wins.
