RALEIGH – Marie Eline Madsen of the NC State women's golf team is set to play at the 2026 Augusta National Women's Amateur, taking place from Wednesday, April 1 to Saturday, April 4.
Madsen will tee off on Wednesday at 9:32 a.m. off hole 1 with group 17, playing with Jasmine Koo (USC) and Camille Min-Gaultier (TCU).
The top 72 amateur women's golfers in the world are invited to play at this event. The first two rounds will be played at Champions Retreat Golf Club on Wednesday and Thursday. The top 30 players including ties will advance to the third round on Saturday at Augusta National. All participants will have the chance to play a practice round at Augusta National on Friday.
The tournament will be televised throughout the weekend. First and second round coverage will be broadcast on the Golf Channel live from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. NBC Sports will produce the final round from noon to 3 p.m. Golf Channel's "Live from the Masters" will begin on Friday at Augusta National to cover the ANWA, the Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals and the Masters Tournament.
Madsen is entering the tournament as the No. 22 ranked amateur in the world. The Viborg, Denmark native is leading the Wolfpack with a 71.04 scoring average with 19 rounds at par or better and eight rounds in the 60s. Madsen has earned three of her five career wins, a school record, this season and has finished in the top 10 in six tournaments and top 20 in eight of her nine appearances as a sophomore.
ANWA is in its seventh year, starting in 2019 (took a pause in 2020 due to COVID-19). Last year, Lauren Olivares Leon became the first member of the Pack to play at the ANWA. She finished in a tie for 33rd with an even 144 to miss the cut by one stroke. Both ANWA participants from NC State have been coached by Darby Sligh, who is in her third season at the helm.
