#13 NC State Battles Back to Defeat Princeton 4-3 at Home

RALEIGH – 13th-ranked NC State men's tennis added on another non-conference win at home Friday night with a down-to-the-wire battle over Princeton.

Friday night lights drew a large crowd to the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center to support the Wolfpack take on another tough non-conference opponent, the Princeton Tigers.

Commanding wins on courts two and three provided the crucial doubles point for the Pack that was able to ensure the team's victory in the end.

NC State dropped the first three singles courts, which put the team score at 3-1 with Princeton in the lead.

After dropping the first set, 88th-ranked William Manning commanded the other two sets to secure a victory over No. 96 Sebastian Sec to cut the Pack's deficit to 2-3. The win is his first ranked win of the spring dual season.

Freshman phenom Charlie Camus followed up with the next singles point to keep the team's hopes alive after battling through a first set tiebreaker on court five.

The scoreboard was then evened out at 3-3, with all eyes on the left on freshman Darius Pop and his opponent, Aleksandar Mitric, on court six.

Pop dropped the first set 6-2 and then had to fight through a tiebreaker in the second set to keep fighting. After taking the tiebreaker and forcing the third set, he then dominated in the final set 6-0 to clinch the victory his team.

The team travels to Harvard for a Sunday noon match for its first road contest of the season.
