DALLAS, TEXAS – NC State Baseball starting pitcher Ryan Marohn continues to receive national recognition before the season begins, as he has been named to the Preseason NCBWA All-American Third Team , the organization announced Friday afternoon.
This recognition is the third of the preseason, as he was earlier named a preseason third-team All-American by Perfect Game and was named one of 20 pitchers on the Baseball America Pitcher of the Year Watch list.
Marohn looks to lead the Wolfpack rotation once again after finishing the 2025 season with an 8-3 record in 14 starts with a 3.38 ERA. He had 91 strikeouts with just 19 walks in 85.1 innings pitched, with opposing batters hitting just .248.
As a sophomore, he was named to the All-CC Third Team last season and finished in the top 10 of conference pitchers in both innings and strikeouts. He recorded three games with double-digit strikeouts.
Marohn had several strong starts last season, none stronger than his start in the Auburn Regional, where he guided the Wolfpack to a must-win victory over Central Connecticut State. Marohn held the Blue Devils to five hits, no runs, no walks, and 10 strikeouts.
The Chantilly, Va. native threw two complete shutouts last season. His second came against Wright State, holding the Raiders to just four hits while walking just one and striking out a career-high 14 batters. Marohn struck out nine straight batters between the sixth and ninth innings and 10 of the last 12 batters he faced. Marohn threw 126 pitches on the day, the most in his career, with a strike percentage of 69%. He was later named ACC Pitcher of the Week for his performance.
In one week, Marohn and the Wolfpack will begin the 2026 season in Puerto Rico at the Puerto Rico Baseball Challenge on Feb. 13th against Washington.
