#9 Pack Takes Care of Campbell to Start the Season

RALEIGH – Ninth-ranked NC State men's tennis (2-0) opened its 2026 slate by defeating Campbell back-to-back on Friday afternoon.
Kicking off the 2026 campaign, a younger Wolfpack squad took the court to secure several collegiate debuts. Three of the four true freshmen, as well as one redshirt-freshman, competed in their first dual-match format collegiate matches today, all claiming wins.
Head coach Kyle Spencer opens his ninth season at the helm of the program, keeping his record clean as he's led the Wolfpack to win every season opener under his guidance.
NC State only gave up one point on the day, defeating the Camels by 6-1 and then by 7-0 with varying lineups.
Cody Benton, Charlie Camus, Darius Pop, and Ainius Sabaliauskas each played in the lineups, getting experience in doubles and singles as their first official dual-match action for the Pack. Sabaliauskas, a native of Lithuania, even headlined court one for singles in the second match.
The red-and-white now move to 14-2 overall against the Camels in their series record.

NC State is back in action on Monday when it hosts another doubleheader, hosting Michigan at 11 a.m. and UNC Greensboro at 4 p.m.
