
Bryant Leads the Pack in Straight Set Win Over Nevada

MANHATTAN, Kansas – The NC State volleyball defeated Nevada in straight sets Thursday afternoon at the Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Kansas Classic to move back into the win column.
Senior outside Courtney Bryant and freshman outside Rebecca Ring earned All-Tournament team nods for their performance over the last 24 hours.
The Wolfpack moves to 4-1 on the season.

The Wolfpack heads back to Raleigh to host South Carolina as part of the Showdown at the Net series. The two programs will face off on Wednesday, September 10 at 6pm in Reynolds Coliseum on ACC Network.

NC State 3, Nevada 0
- The Wolfpack came out of the gates hot, taking a 10-6 lead to force and early Nevada timeout.
- Six unanswered points allowed NC State to push the lead to six. Bryant was behind the service line and tallied two points during the squads scoring run.
- NC State continued to dominate the first set, eventually take it, 25-18.
- The momentum didn't slow as the Wolfpack jumped out to a 10-4 lead in the second to force another early timeout from Nevada.
- Bryant tied her career high when she picked up her fourth service ace on the Pack's 16th point.
- With NC State leading 23-18, Nevada used its final timeout in hopes of slowing the Wolfpack down. After two unanswered point by the Wolf Pack, head coach Megan Wargo-Kearney used her first timeout of the match to regroup her squad.
- NC State took the second set, 25-21 and Bryant led all scorers with six kills.
- The Wolfpack continued to dominate in the third set, taking a 10-6 lead. Ring and and fellow freshman Jordan Smith each tallied three kills to help the Pack maintain its lead.
- A 5-0 scoring run by NC State forced a Nevada timeout and the Wolfpack went on to take the set, 25-16.
- Bryant tallied nine kills and a .500 hitting percentage to lead the Pack offensively.
- The win marked the first over Nevada, the fourth in the MWK Era, and the first road win of the season. It also marked the 820th win in program history.
