
Tuohy Sets Facility and Program Records at Liberty Twilight Meet

LYNCHBURG, VA – Patrick Tuohy shattered both the Matthes-Hopkins Track facility record and the NC State program record in the 800m at the Liberty Twilight, highlighting a strong performance by a select group of Wolfpack athletes to close out the regular season in Lynchburg, Va.
Tuohy clocked an impressive time of 1:47.56, setting a new standard for both the facility and the NC State track and field program. Fellow Wolfpack runner Ryan Motondo also competed in the 800m, finishing seventh with a time of 1:52.26.
In the field events, Tony Taylor II earned a third-place finish in the hammer throw, recording a mark of 52.14m (171' 0.75").
On the distance side, Jimmy Mullarkey competed in the 1500m, placing sixth with a time of 3:48.35.
The Wolfpack women also had strong showings. Ta'Honny Exum claimed first place in the shot put with a throw of 14.30m (46' 10.75"), while Sydney Freeman took second in the hammer throw with a mark of 52.18m (171' 2.25"). Rounding out the women's podium finishes, Jakerra Covington placed third in the javelin with a throw of 41.60m (136' 5.75").
The Liberty Twilight served as a strong final tune-up before postseason competition, with the ACC Championships set for May 15-17 at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C.
