AUBURN, Ala. - The NC State softball team is scheduled to head to Alabama to take on Auburn for a three game series to wrap up the 2025 season. The Pack will open play against the Tigers on Friday, May 2 at 6pm on SECN+.

- Friday marks just the third meeting between the two programs and first since 2010. The series marks the first ever between the Tigers and Wolfpack.
- Auburn holds a 2-0 advantage in the history books, having won the initial meetings in 2006 and 2010.

- Freshman Taryn Massey has started the last 11 games at third base and quickly found a permanent spot on the lineup card.

- In the April 26 upset over #21/18 Duke, she smashed a two-out grand slam in the bottom of the sixth to give NC State the lead and what would be the game winning hit/runs. The grand slam made her just the 10th freshman in program history to hit one in their first collegiate season.
- The Roxboro, N.C. native held a four game hit streak from April 15 to 19.
- Freshman shortstop Kendall Simmers continues to make her mark on the program in year one.
- She smashed two homers in the April 22 win at East Carolina to move her season total to 13 and mark her first collegiate game with two homers.
- Her 13 homers (and likely counting) mark the most by a freshman in program history - a record that sat untouched for 18 years. Allison Presnell set the record in 2007.
- She ranks in the top five for freshmna program records for batting average, slugging percentage, on base percentage, runs scored, homers, RBI's, total bases, walks and assists.
- At the Marucci Classic, the freshie hit .778 on the weekend, going 7-for-9 from the box with a double and a homer and scored six runs and five RBI's. She had a stellar 1.222 slugging percentage AND went 100% from the field. To add on to the greatness, she struck out only once.
- Three members of the Pack have hit a grand slam this season -- Hannah Church, Michele Tarpey, and Taryn Massey.
- 2025 marks the 15th season in program history that a member has recorded at least one grand slam.
- Only five former members of the Pack have hit more than one in their career with the red-and-white. With her slam at UNC on April 18, Church became just the third person in program history to tally two in one season.
- Including the two this year, the Wolfpack have tallied 33 grand slams in its 21 year history.
- The four this season marks the second most in a single season in program history. In 2013, the Pack recorded seven.
