
No. 7/8 NC State Will Face No. 14/14 North Carolina in 2025 Ally ACC Tournament Semifinals

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The No. 7/8 NC State women's basketball team is ready for the 2025 Ally ACC Tournament Semifinals with a rematch against in-state rival No. 14/14 North Carolina. The No. 1 seed vs. No. 5 seed matchup will tipoff on Saturday, March 8 at noon from First Horizon Coliseum. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
ABOUT NC STATE
- ​​The Wolfpack has earned its seventh ACC Tournament Semifinals appearance in the last eight years after defeating Georgia Tech in the quarterfinals, 73-72. NC State has improved to 28-16 in quarterfinals games and 61-40 in tournament games
- NC State finished 16-2 in the ACC to share the regular season title with Notre Dame. Winning the head-to-head matchup vs. Notre Dame after defeating the Irish 104-95 in double overtime, the Pack clinched the No. 1 seed for the seventh time in school history at the ACC Tournament
- The Pack is No. 7 in the AP Poll, which is the best ranking this season. NC State is in the top 10 for the fourth time this season, and also in the AP top 10 for the 219th week in program history. NC State is No. 8 in the WBCA Coaches Poll
- Four of the Pack's five losses have come to AP Top 15 teams: South Carolina (5), TCU (8), LSU (9) and UNC (14)
- NC State has won 21 of the last 23 games with a total of five ranked wins after starting the season 4-3
- NC State finished the regular season undefeated at home with a 16-0 mark. This marked the third time in program history the Pack has finished the regular season undefeated at home, the second time in the Wes Moore era
- The Pack has also won 21 straight home games (stretching back from last season), tied for the fifth longest active streak in the country
- The NCAA WBB Committee tabbed NC State a No. 2 seed, eighth overall, as it stands right now (Birmingham Region) on Feb. 27
- NC State is No. 16 in the NET and has an average opponent NET opponent ranking at No. 69, which is fourth in the country (trailing South Carolina- 62, Duke - 67 and Iowa - 68), as well as the 21st toughest strength of schedule in the country
- NC State is one of 15 schools in the country to have picked up at least six Quad 1 NET wins. The Pack is one of 10 schools to have at least 15 top 100 wins, tied for the second most in the country
- The Pack has four players who average double digits in scoring and has six who average 6.8 points per game or more
- Aziaha James leads NC State with 17.9 points per game, which is No. 6 in the ACC, and 65 made 3-pointers
- Madison Hayes paces the Pack with 7.1 rebounds per game and ties with Tilda Trygger with 62 offensive rebounds
- Saniya Rivers leads the Pack in steals per game (1.6) and blocks per game (1.3)
- Zoe Brooks has a team-leading 3.9 assists per game
- Trygger is logging a 52.9 field goal percentage (81-153), which is the best among players with 100+ attempts
- Head coach Wes Moore achieved 850 career wins at Florida State (2/13). He has coached over 1,100 games in his 36-year coaching career
- The Pack leads the ACC and is second in the country in least fouls per game (11.9). NC State is second in the ACC in defensive rebounds per game (29.8), which is eighth in the country, as well as turnovers per game (11.9) and rebounds per game (41.6), which are 14th and 17th in the country. NC State is also third in assist/turnover ratio (1.2) and field goal percentage defense (38.7)

- Ayssa Utsby earned All-ACC First Team honors and was tabbed to the All-Defensive Team. She averages 10.8 points and a team-leading 9.6 rebounds per game and 87 assists
- Maria Gakdeng and Reniya Kelly were All-ACC Second Team honorees. Gakdeng leads the team in scoring with 11.3 points per game and 35 blocks, while Kelly is averaging 10.2 points per game with 63 assists
- Lanie Grant was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team. She is logging 7.5 points per game
