
No. 14 NC State Heads to No. 22 Florida State

RALEIGH, N.C. – The No. 14/14 NC State women's basketball team is set for its second straight ranked matchup, this time at No. 22/22 Florida State on Sunday, Feb. 9. That game will tipoff from the Tucker Center at 2 p.m. and will be aired on The CW.
ABOUT NC STATE
- ​​​NC State is coming off its biggest win of the season, an 89-83 win over No. 10/10 Duke in the 20th annual Play4Kay Game. The Wolfpack was down by as many of 13, the largest deficit overcome this year, to win behind a season-high 61.0 percent (36-59) shooting from the field
- The Pack is on a seven-game winning streak and has won 14 of the last 15 games
- NC State is 13-0 at home and on an 18-game home winning streak (stretching back from last season), as well as has won three straight road contests
- NC State's 18-game home winning streak is the longest active streak in the ACC and sixth longest home streak in the country
- The Pack is second in the ACC standings with a 10-1 conference mark. FSU is at 9-2
- The Pack's average opponent NET ranking is the fourth best in the country at No. 77 (trailing just South Carolina- 66, Duke- 71 and Iowa- 76), as well as the 18th toughest strength of schedule (not accounting for all of NC State's tough February schedule)
- NC State is one of 22 schools in the country to have picked up at least three Quad 1 NET wins. The Pack is one of 16 schools to have at least 10 top 100 wins
- NC State moved to No. 14 in the AP Poll. The Pack's four losses are to top 25 teams, including three top 10 squads: No. 2 South Carolina, No. 6 LSU and No. 9 TCU. The Pack has been ranked in each WBCA Coaches Poll rankings, currently sitting at No. 14
- The Pack has four players who average double digits in scoring
- Aziaha James leads NC State with 17.8 points per game, which is No. 5 in the ACC, and 45 made 3-pointers. The senior was one of 25 named to the Wooden Midseason Watch List and USBWA Midseason Player of the Year Watch List
- James scored a career-high 36 points on just 19 shots vs. No. 10/10 Duke, which marked the most points scored by an NC State player since 1998 (Chasity Melvin vs. Louisiana Tech)
- Madison Hayes paces the Pack with 6.8 rebounds per game and has a team's most 44 offensive rebounds
- Saniya Rivers leads the Pack in steals per game (1.7) and blocks per game (1.1). She was named to the Cheryl Miller Midseason Top 10 Watch List
- Zoe Brooks has a team-leading 4.0 assists per game
- Mallory Collier has a team's best .592 field goal percentage (42-71)
- The Pack leads the ACC and the country in least fouls per game (12.1). NC State is second in the ACC in turnovers per game (12.3) and defensive rebounds per game (29.0), which are 13th and 14th in the country, respectively. The Pack is also third in the ACC in rebounds per game (41.0), which is 22nd in the NCAA
SCOUTING FLORIDA STATE
- FSU was picked to finish fifth in the ACC Preseason Poll after finishing 23-11, 12-6 in the ACC, last season. The Seminoles was the No. 9 seed in the NCAA Tournament and fell to Alabama, 82-74, in the first round
- Ta'Niya Latson and Makayla Timpson were named to the Preseason All-ACC Team. Last season, Latson averaged 21.4 points per game and had a team's most 137 assists and 50 steals. Timpson averaged a double-double (14.3 points and 10.0 rebounds per game) with a team's most 87 blocks
- This season, the nation's leading scoring offense (92.9 PPG), is led by Latson, who has been having an extraordinary year, leading the country in scoring with 26.2 points per game with 106 assists
- Timpson is averaging another double-double with 17.3 points and a team-leading 10.8 rebounds per game with 75 total blocks
- O'Mariah Gordon has a team's most 59 steals

SERIES HISTORY (NC STATE LEADS 36-17)

The Pack will host Miami at Reynolds Coliseum on Thursday, Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ACC Network.
