No. 19 NC State Dominates SMU With 5-0 Sweep

DALLAS, TX – The No. 19 NC State Women's Tennis team concluded it's weekend in Texas with a commanding 5-0 sweep over SMU Sunday afternoon at the Styslinger/ Altec Tennis Complex.
Coming off of a tough 4-3 loss over No.10 Texas Friday night the Pack was eager to pick up the pieces against SMU. The Pack came out strong, swiftly securing the doubles point with victories on courts 1 and 2, thanks to the efforts of No. 5 Gabriella Broadfoot and Maddy Zampardo, as well as Anna Zyraynova and Mia Slama.
In singles play, NC State set the tone early, winning the first set on all six courts. Sophomore Maddy Zampardo, who remains undefeated in singles, continued her impressive streak with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Ellie Pittman for her sixth consecutive singles victory. The clinch came down to two fierce battles, with Gabriella Broadfoot and Kristina Paskauskas each claiming their respective wins. Broadfoot gained control over Arianna Stavropoulos 7-5, 6-4, while Kristina Paskauskas closed the door against Drew Morris 6-3, 6-3 to seal the win for the Pack.
Next up, NC State will return to Raleigh for a matchup against Old Dominion on February 8 at 1:00 p.m. at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.
