NC State Opens 2026 with Hosting Stanford

RALEIGH – The NC State women's basketball team will begin 2026 with a home matchup against Stanford on Thursday, Jan. 1 at 2 p.m. at Reynolds Coliseum. The game will be broadcast on ACC Network.
ABOUT NC STATE
- NC State has started the ACC season 2-0 and finished the non-conference slate to go into 2026 with a 9-4 mark
- The Wolfpack will return back to ACC play and take on Stanford for the second time as league opponents and sixth time overall with the Pack owning a 3-2 advantage in the series
- NC State is No. 30 in the NET with two Quad 1 wins, which is the second most in the ACC
- With one of the toughest schedules in the country, NC State has the best average opponent NET ranking (72), which is second overall and has the 10th best NET SOS, fourth among Power 4 (including UConn) schools
- Khamil Pierre leads the team in scoring (15.2) and rebounding (12.7), while also leading the league in defensive rebounds (8.7) and offensive rebounds per game (4.0). She is the nation's leading rebounder and has the fourth most double-doubles in the NCAA (8)
- Zoe Brooks paces the Pack with 4.2 assists per game and has averaged 13.8 points per game
- Zamareya Jones has a team's most 1.2 steals per game and has averaged 14.4 points per game
- Tilda Trygger paces the Pack with 1.3 blocks per game and has a team's best field goal percentage a .520 (53-of-102), averaging 11.2 points per game
- Three different Pack players rank in the top 15 in scoring per game in the ACC with Pierre (6th - 15.2), Jones (9th - 14.4) and Brooks (14th - 13.8) and three rank in the top 25 in rebounding with Pierre (1st - 12.7), Trygger (9th - 7.8) and Brooks (24th - 6.0)
- NC State leads the league in rebounds per game (47.77) and defensive rebounds per game (34.0), which are fifth and second in the country, respectively. The Pack is also third in the ACC in rebounding margin (10.8)
SCOUTING STANFORD
- Stanford was picked to finish sixth in the ACC Preseason Poll, finishing 16-15 and earning a spot in the NCAA WBIT last season
- Nunu Agara was named to the All-ACC Preseason Team and Hailee Swain and Lara Somfai were chosen on the Preseason All-Freshman Team list
- Stanford is 12-2 and 1-0 in league play with a No. 36 NET ranking
- Agara leads Stanford with 14.9 points per game
