NC State Closes Out 2025 with Non-Conference Matchup at Davidson

RALEIGH – The NC State women's basketball team will play one final non-conference regular season matchup, as the team takes on Davidson on the road on Sunday, Dec. 21. The Wolfpack and Wildcats will tipoff at noon at John M. Belk Arena, and the game will be broadcast on CBS Sports.
ABOUT NC STATE
- NC State has started the ACC season 2-0 following its 87-58 win vs. Georgia Tech. Last Sunday, NC State earned its 10th straight ACC opening win at Miami
- The Pack has improved to 8-4 against one of the toughest schedules in the country
- NC State will play one more non-conference matchup with Davidson to mark the 12th game of the all-time series. This marks the third time in school history and first time since 1976 NC State will play Davidson on the road
- NC State has 10 spots in the NET rankings over the past week, standing at No. 28. The Pack has an average opponent NET ranking that stacks as the second highest among Power 4 schools and third overall (77), as well as the third best NET SOS among P4 (9)
- Khamil Pierre leads the team in scoring (14.5) and rebounding (12.7), while also leading the league in defensive rebounds (8.6) and offensive rebounds per game (4.1). She is the nation's leading rebounder and has the fourth most double-doubles in the NCAA (7)
- Zoe Brooks paces the Pack with 4.5 assists per game and has averaged 13.8 points per game
- Zamareya Jones has a team's most 1.3 steals per game and has averaged 14.0 points per game
- Tilda Trygger paces the Pack with 1.3 blocks per game and has a team's best field goal percentage a .538 (50-of-93), averaging 11.5 points per game
- Three different Pack players rank in the top 10 in scoring per game in the ACC with Pierre (8th - 14.5), Jones (9th - 14.0) and Brooks (10th - 13.8) and three rank in the top 25 in rebounding with Pierre (1st - 12.7), Trygger (8th - 7.9) and Brooks (21st - 6.1)
- NC State leads the league in rebounds per game (48.25) and defensive rebounds per game (33.6), which are fifth and second in the country, respectively. The Pack is also fourth in the ACC in rebounding margin (11.3) and offensive rebounds per game (14.3)
SCOUTING DAVIDSON
- Davidson was picked to finish third in the Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll, earning one first-place vote. The Wildcats finished 19-14 overall and 13-5 in the league to earn a spot in the WBIT
- Three players earned a spot on the Preseason All A-10 Team with Charlie Dunn tabbed to the First Team and All-Defensive, Katie Donovan chosen to the Second Team and Candice Lienafa to the Third Team
- Davidson has started the season 9-4 and is No. 52 in the NET
- Dunn leads Davidson with 16.2 points per game, 7.4 rebounds per game, 29 total steals and 13 total blocks
- Ines Garcia Monje paces the team in assists with 38
- Donovan is tallying 12.4 points per game and Lienafa logs 6.4 points per game
LAST TIME OUT
- The Pack took care of business against Georgia Tech in NC State's home ACC opener to improve to 2-0 in league play
- NC State outscored GT 22-3 in the third quarter with GT's three points marking the third fewest given up in a quarter in school history and the least since 2017 (Nov. 20, 2017 vs. Old Dominion)
- The Pack shot 52.9 percent from the field and won the battle in rebounds (44-31), points off turnovers (14-8), points in the paint (34-20), second chance points (5-2), fast breaks (17-14) and bench points (32-8)
- Jones led the Pak with 17 points and seven assists with just one turnover
- Pierre finished just shy of a double-double with 13 points, nine rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block
- The Pack saw six players in double figures, as Brooks tallied 10 points and Trygger tallied 10 points, eight boards and two blocks
- Destiny "Ky'She" Lunan contributed 10 points and a career-high five assists and Qadence Samuels registered 10 points, six boards, two steals and one block off the bench
- Nine players scored and Maddie Cox tallied seven points and six boards
SERIES HISTORY (NC STATE LEADS 17-12)
- The Pack and Wildcats will play for the 12th time in the all-time series
- The first meeting between the two teams came in 1975, resulting in a loss for the Pack, 64-50, on the road
- NC State has won 10 straight against Davidson and is 1-1 in games of the series played on the road
- In the last matchup, NC State won in thrilling fashion with a 59-57 win
UPCOMING
NC State will ring in the new year by hosting Stanford at Reynolds Coliseum on Thursday, Jan. 1 at 2 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ACC Network.
