RALEIGH, N.C.- Postseason awards continue to come in for Pack football as Devon Marshall and Spike Sowells, Jr. find their way onto All-American teams following their strong seasons. Marshall was named Second-Team All-American by the Athletic, while Sowells was named by PFF a Freshman All-American.
A senior cornerback from Boston, Mass., Marshall leads the FBS with 15 passes broken up and ranks second in the FBS in passes defended for the season with 17 in 2025. He was named ACC Player of the Week for the Florida State game when he had one of the best games for a defensive back in school history in that victory. While matched up against the ACC's leading receiver,
Duce Robinson and Marshall tallied six pass breakups and two interceptions. With eight passes defended, he had the most in the FBS this season for a single game. His six PBUs against the Seminoles is a single-game record; his 13 for the season is tied for 12th in school history. One of the Pack's most consistent defenders this season, he has started every contest at left corner.
Â
Sowells was the first Wolfpack true freshman to start on the offensive line since first-round draft pick Ickey Ekwonu in 2019. Spike allowed just nine pressures across 216 pass-block snaps this season. The Louisville, Kentucky, native started six games this season at right guard. He was named an On3 midseason Freshman All-American and was graded out the highest on the offense line in three of his six starts: Virginia Tech, Notre Dame, and Florida State.
Â
Marshall and Sowells, Jr. join the growing list of postseason accolades for the Wolfpack as they join Caden Fordham, Justin Joly, and Hollywood Smothers, who have been recognized for their stellar seasons.
