Pack Defeats UAB in Friday Night Showdown

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State men's basketball team defeated UAB, 94-70, Friday evening to move to 2-0 in the Will Wade Era.
The Pack had four players finish in double figures with senior Quadir Copeland and sophomore Paul McNeil, Jr. each posting 18.
Copeland shot over 71-percent (5-for-7) from the floor and 86-percent (6-for7) from the charity stripe.
10 of the Pack's 12 players that entered the game scored, including 22 points coming from the bench.
Freshman Musa Sagnia led the squad defensively with 10 boards.
The Pack held the lead until the eight minute mark in the first half when a second chance layup from the Dragon's Chance Westry put UAB in front by three (19-16). A McNeil bucket from long range put NC State back in front (22-20) with six and a half minutes to go.
NC State posted its largest lead of the opening half with 44 seconds left (41-31) after a tip-in dunk from Copeland.
In the second half, the Pack never gave up the lead and pushed its lead to 31 on two different occasions. Senior Tre Holloman posted 12 of his 14 points in the final half, going 4-for-5 from the floor.
NC State (2-0) returns to Lenovo Center on Wednesday, November 12 to host UNC Greensboro (0-1). Tipoff is slated for 8pm and will be televised on ACC Network.
