CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The NC State volleyball team fell to 13^th-ranked Miami in straight sets Wednesday afternoon in Miami.

The Canes began hot, taking a 4-1 lead over the Wolfpack. A kill by senior Courtney Bryant ended Miami's scoring run but the Canes responded with a 7-0 scoring run to force two early timeouts by head coach Megan Wargo-Kearney.

Miami continued to dominate and took the opening set, 25-11. Freshman middle blocker Talia Francom led the Pack with two kills and a block in the first.

The second set was a fresh start for the Wolfpack as it opened with a 4-0 scoring run, highlighted by two aces from redshirt-junior setter, Elaisa Villar.

Headed into the media timeout of set two, Miami led by three (15-12) and the Pack continued to battle but was unable to regain the lead. The Canes took the second set, 25-21. Three members of the Pack tallied three kills through two sets: Bryant, Francom, and freshman outside Rebecca Ring.

NC State called an early timeout in the third set after the Canes jumped out to a 4-0 lead. Miami would score 10 straight before the Pack picked up its first point. The Pack used its final timeout after Miami went up, 13-1. The Pack dropped set three, 5-25.

The Pack moves to 15-14 overall and 8-11 in conference action.

The Pack will return to Raleigh to play its final match of the season. NC State will host eighth-ranked SMU on Saturday, Nov. 29 at 1pm and the match will be streamed on ACCNX. Following the match, the program will recognize its three senior student-athletes and three managers.
