RALEIGH – Fourth-ranked NC State men's soccer (11-1-4, 4-1-3 ACC) recorded a draw with Syracuse (7-6-3, 4-3-1 ACC) 1-1 Friday night in the regular season finale.
Prior to the game, 11 players in the senior class were honored. With the regular season finale in the books, NC State will finish third in the ACC standings for the 2025 season.
Nailing several shots over the goal in the first half brought a scoreless first 45 minutes of the match. The Pack was even able to keep the Orange from making any shooting attempts in the first frame of the game.
Coming out of halftime knowing business needed to be handled, the Pack quickly got to their offensive half. Taig Healy was making a run with the ball in the box when a trip by a Syracuse defender prompted a penalty kick, which was taken by Drew Lovelace to put the Pack on the scoreboard.
A good bit of the second half consisted of the ball being shared back and forth between the two teams in the midfield.
Syracuse got even in the 80th minute when Sachiel Ming nailed a shot from outside the box to get past Logan Erb.
