CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – NC State women's soccer (5-8-4, 4-3-2 ACC) concludes its 2025 regular season on Thursday, Oct. 30, with a matchup at North Carolina (11-6-0, 5-4-0 ACC). The contest at Dorrance Field is set for 8 p.m. and will air live on ACC Network.
Wolfpack on the Big Screen
Thursday's match marks the second of NC State's back-to-back nationally televised contests on ACC Network. The Pack's Senior Night game against Duke aired nationally on the same network. NC State's first appearance on ACC Network this season came in its biggest win of the year, a 2-1 victory over No. 12 Wake Forest.
Last Time Out
NC State fell 3-1 to No. 7 Duke on Sunday, Oct. 26, at Dail Soccer Stadium in its final regular-season home match of the 2025 campaign. Jade Bordeleau scored her 10th goal of the season in the loss, while goalkeeper Olivia Pratapas recorded a career-high 16 saves.
The opening minutes were played largely in the midfield before the Wolfpack were forced to play a player down following a red card to Alex Mohr in the 13th minute. Duke outshot NC State 10-3 in the first half and broke through in the 42nd minute on a goal from Farrah Walters to take a 1-0 lead into halftime. Bordeleau created NC State's best looks with a pair of first-half shots, including one in the 36th minute that was saved by Duke goalkeeper Caroline Dysart. The Pack pulled even early in the second half when Bordeleau scored off a corner from Mana Nakata in the 52nd minute, but Duke answered just eight seconds later through Mia Minestrella before adding a third from Devin Lynch in the 60th minute to seal the 3-1 result.

Bordeleau's Having a Ball
Junior forward Jade Bordeleau leads the Pack with 10 goals this season, tied for seventh in the ACC and the most by a Wolfpack player since 2019.
Bordeleau recently saw her five-match goal streak come to an end, a run that ranked as the second-longest in program history and made her the first NC State player to score in five straight games in the 21st century.
A driving force behind the Pack's attack, Bordeleau has found the net in four of NC State's five wins this season.
Series History
Thursday marks the 55th all-time meeting between NC State and North Carolina, with the Tar Heels holding a 49-3-2 advantage in the series. The teams last faced off in 2023, when UNC earned a 4-0 win in Raleigh. Despite the lopsided all-time record, two of NC State's three wins have come in the last decade, both 1-0 victories in 2016 and 2021.
Scouting the Tar Heels
The reigning national champions, North Carolina enters Thursday's match receiving votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll and ranked No. 22 in the RPI. The Tar Heels have earned 15 points in ACC play, sitting ninth in the standings heading into the final day of the regular season and still in contention for an ACC Championship berth.
Offensively, UNC is led by Olivia Thomas, whose 13 goals rank second in the ACC. Thomas also leads the league in shots with 78. Kate Faasse has also been an offensive threat with nine goals to bolster the Tar Heels' attack.
The Tar Heels are led by Damon Nahas, who was officially named head coach after guiding UNC to its 23rd national title in 2024. Nahas, the second head coach in program history following Anson Dorrance's retirement, has been with the program since 2015 and was promoted to associate head coach in 2021.
