Women’s Golf Finishes the Fall at Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The NC State women's golf team finished tied for 13th with a 30-over 894 (295-303-296) at the Landfall Tradition. Vania Simont led the Pack with a 4-over 76 to tie for 29th. NC State has closed out the fall season and will be back in late January for the Collegiate in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Round 1
NC State finished the first round with a 7-over 295 to stand in a fourway tie for 10th after 18 holes. Marie Eline Madsen led the Pack with a 1-under 71, standing in a tie for 14th. She had three birdies, 13 pars and two bogeys in the first round. Simont logged a 1-over 73 behind three birdies, 12 pars, two bogeys and one double bogey to tie for 30th.
Lea Ludwig bounced back from shooting a 40 in the back nine to turn around and shoot a 34 in the front to log a 2-over 74 to stand in a tie for 39th. Ellie Hildreth and Lindsay McGrath followed with a 5-over 75, apiece, to tie for 68th after round one. Elizabeth Sullivan logged a 7-over 79 to tie for 83rd as an individual.
Round 2
The Pack carded a 15-over 303 in the second round. Simont led the Pack with a 2-over 74, while McGrath followed with a 3-over 75, closing out the round with two key birdies. Madsen and Ludwig both carded a 5-over 77, apiece. Hildreth tallied a 7-over 79 and Sullivan carded her best round in her young Pack career with a 4-over 76.
Round 3
NC State closed out the tournament with an 8-over 296 to finish the tournament tied for 13th. Simont and Hildreth were solid, carding a 1-over 73 each. Simont finished the tournament in a tie for 29th, while Hildreth finished tied 70th. Madsen logged a 2-over 74 to log a tie for 35th. McGrath tallied a 4-over 76 and Ludwig carded a 5-over 77, as the tandem tied for 64th. Sullivan logged a 6-over 78 in the final round.
The Pack logged the fourth most pars in the tournament field with 170.
