RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State cross country team will return to action this Friday, Oct. 3, in Chicago, Ill., at the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational and at The Dill Family Foundation Invitational in Greenville, N.C.

LAST TIME OUT
The Wolfpack opened the 2025 season with a standout performance at the adidas XC Challenge on Sept. 19. The women dominated the 5K, capturing the team title, while the men secured a third-place finish in the 6K.
The women tallied 38 points to outpace runner-up North Carolina, which finished with 68 points. Hannah Gapes led the charge with a winning time of 16:01.8, while teammates Kate Putman (16:17.9) and Bethany Michalak (16:24.9) followed close behind to give NC State a sweep of the top three spots.
On the men's side, the Wolfpack posted 92 points to claim third overall. Junior Luke Wiley paced the team with a 10th-place finish (18:11.7), leading a group of four NC State runners to finish inside the top-25.

The NC State women's cross country team is currently ranked No. 2 in the country and No. 1 in the Southeast Region, according to the USTFCCCA National Coaches' Poll.
The men's team is ranked No. 11 in the Southeast Region, according to the USTFCCCA Regional Poll.
