After an impressive 22-9 finish in the 2024 season, the NC State women's tennis team is ready to hit the ground running as they begin their 2025 campaign. Ranked No. 14 in ITA preseason polls, the Wolfpack look to continue their upward trajectory and build on their strong performances from the fall.
A major highlight from the fall season came from doubles duo Maddy Zampardo and Gabriella Broadfoot, who proved to be a dominant force on the court. Ranked No. 5 in the nation in ITA doubles rankings, the pair delivered exceptional performances throughout the fall, culminating in a historic victory at the ITA Doubles Championship in September. This win earned Zampardo and Broadfoot both ITA All-American honors—becoming just the 9th and 10th players in program history to achieve the honor.
Ranked No. 60 Kristina Paskauskas and Jasmine Conway have established themselves as a rising pair in the doubles lineup after fall competition. Freshman Gabia Paskauskas has also emerged as a key player in the singles rotation earning a spot at No. 55 in ITA singles rankings.
Scouting Miami
The Wolfpack will look to continue their momentum when they face No. 23 Miami in their season opener. This will be the Hurricanes' first invite of the season, making them an intriguing early challenge for NC State. This matchup will mark the 20th meeting between the two programs, with the Wolfpack coming off a 4-3 victory in their last meeting in April 2024. NC State will be looking to extend that success as they take on a talented Miami squad led by their singles player, No. 70 Raquel Gonzalez.
Scouting Oklahoma
No. 16 Oklahoma. The Wolfpack will be looking to improve on their 1-3 all-time record against the Sooners, with the last meeting between the two programs ending in a 4-2 loss for NC State in Norman, OK, on February 25, 2024. This will mark Oklahoma's first competition of the season, and they will bring a formidable lineup to the court. The Sooners feature a talented group of ranked singles players, including No. 14 Julia Garcia Ruiz, No. 43 Alina Schcherbinnia, No. 66 Emma Stalker, and No. 68 Ava Catanzarite. In doubles, the Sooner feature two ranked duos: No. 28 Cara Mester & Alina Schcherbinnia and No. 30 Chloe Noel & Julia Garcia Ruiz.
Scouting Vanderbilt
This will be the first meeting against the Commodores since the Wolfpack's 2023 regular season. They come into this weekend's matchups ranked No. 21 in ITA team rankings. The Commodores feature ranked singles players: No. 26 Bridget Stammel and No. 78 Valeria Ray.
